I don't need 25GbE but E810-XXVDA2 card is at same price as X710-DA2 so I'm thinking why not go for the supposedly better NIC.

I'm aware that FreeBSD has ice driver supporting Intel 800 series but i'm wondering if it is stable as Intel NICs has always been with FreeBSD. One person in this forum seems to have problem with Opnsense not recognizing this card.

Thnx for help guys  :)

Bumping this thread because I see the support available as well (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19631/intel-network-adapter-driver-for-e810-series-devices-under-freebsd.html) and wondering if this is the thing that will get me to make the move to opnsense...

Is it supported in BSD 14.1? That's coming pretty soon, slated to be 24.7 release with probably the fall release for business.
