Console not progressing beyond SHA display

Hello all
Did a clean install of 24.1 on a pcengines.ch apu4. Install progressed normally and display was normal. Did not load old config initially and used default password to log on from the console. Using the GUI was normal. Used the GUI to load the old config file previously used on 23.12.5.

Rebooted the machine from GUI. System booted normally but the console display did not progress beyond the SHA display and the keyboard locked. The GUI runs fine and the machine can be controlled from there.

Running Minicom for console access.
