Deciso BIOS Updates vs Opnsense OS Updates

Hi Guys
Please don't beat me up, honest question here because I really don't know the answer:
I've a DEC850 from Deciso, excellent device. I haven't updated the BIOS on it (see
https://docs.opnsense.org/hardware/bios.html
), and though I was hoping it was not a big deal, I'm not sure. Are BIOS updates as important / more important / less important than updates to Opnsense itself? Can I leave the old BIOS alone if the unit seems to be working correctly?
Many thanks for your help, and apologies if this is a NOOB question.

BIOS updates should be applied when available.
Regular OPNsense updates as they come, usually every 2-3 weeks, with major ones every January/July
