DNS Lookup of clients on clients give WAN IP not client ips.

Hi all..
Sorry long-time lurker and first time posting..
Have been using Opensence now for over a year but have only recently been digging into it..
Opensense 23.7.11
I have set up Unbound DNS and have it working for overrides that I add but I'm trying to get it to respond with local client addresses for all devices in DHCP...
Unbound is set to Register DHCP Leases and is set for internal interfaces only.
I have added the domain to the private domains in Advanced.
I am not using any block lists
If I use "nslookup dmxlaser" for example it returns the ip of the WAN, not the internal IP of the device.
If I use "nslookup dmxlaser.domain.com" (Domain name changed) it returns the ip of opensences interface on the subnet that the device is on
If I use an unbound override in the nslookup it works as expected..
Any ideas, just want dhcp clients added to Unbound DNS.
Cheers
Rob
