Mini-pc Opnsense 8 GB ram
Suricata deactivated

With version 1.16 I had 55% of ram memory used and with the new version 1.16.1 I am now using 80 - 85% of ram memory used.

Was that with 1.16 on 23.7.11 or 23.7.10_1 that you had lower utilisation? Both Zenarmor and OPNSense have updated about the same time, so there are a couple of variables at play here.

Also, are you seeing any issues? 'Free' memory is wasted memory as long as you have no issues  ;)

Can you share a screenshot of the following command?

top -ao res

Hi,

We need more info for the higher Mem usage issue. Please share a report by following the instructions in the below link.

I don't know what you mean. I have an OPNsense with Zenarmor and elasticsearch, it occupies 4.9 GB RAM, i.e. almost 2/3 of RAM are free (16 GB total RAM).

I also have a Debian 12 with Zenarmor, elasticsearch and kibana, at the same time docker with HomeAssistant and another app. This fills 10.9 GB, i.e. about 1/3 of RAM is free.

And 0 MB swap usage is very nice, not a reason for complaining.
OPNsense HW:

Minisforum Venus series UN100C, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD
T-bao N9N Pro, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD

My fresh install of opnsense + sensei also used 85% (8GB) of available RAM but it settled after a while and is now using 57%. Using elastisearch locally.

Back to 75-83%. :-)

Hi,

What is the top applications of top -ao res command?

I have the same situation as well although after a few days the ram usage drops down to about 45% and a day later it jumps back up to about 70 to 80% of 8gb ram.

Hi,

What is your reporting DB? And Howmany days do you keep the reporting data?
