first opnsense router build...any compatibility issues?

hey guys i was wondering if there is anything special things i gotta do to get this hardware up and running
16gb sata ssd
cpu i5 3470
4x4 1600mhz ddr3
tplink tx201 (realtek 2.5g) - WAN port
hp NC375T - 4xLan port
Onboard intel 82579lm - to netgear nighthawk like wifi router
i already bought the hardware mostly gearing this toward uninterrupted gaming when others are streaming games from there ps5 to there pc and still will let me download games at 30mbs and not have my connection drop out
using an old dell optiplex 7010 might replace the cpu with a 3770k i got laying around if the board supports it

You could try installing the vendor driver: os-realtek-re from System | Firmware | Plugins but there's no guarantee.
For checking look at the compatibility list
https://www.freebsd.org/releases/13.0R/hardware/
, just be sure is the right OS version i.e. 12, 13, etc.
There should be something in the logs to give an indication of what is happening when the system boots and sees the card.

seems you don't have name resolution on the machine yet but you're on a catch-22 situation if your wan doesn't exist on the system.
Or if you are using one of the other ports or nic and have a wan at present, you might have to reassign the interfaces and dns will be done on the wan via your default isp dns servers.

decided to start fresh now in interface the intel 1g port is showing as a wan(it was showing as LAN before)
but when i reboot the system it shows wan without an ip address but it acquires 1 if unplugged and plugged back in but then i become unable to access the gui and still no internet access cant access gui until i reboot the system but loses ip on wan port
my pc is connected to the realtek 1g port = lan
wan is connected to the lan of the nighthawk, nighthawks wan is connected to the modem
i guess opnsense is unable to handle this config or theres an ip conflict that im too smooth brained to figure out and will have to wait for the 4 port card to arrive in the mail

Is your WAN an existing private network for initial testing purposes? Is it 192.168.1.0/24?
If yes, you need to change the network and address of the LAN interface of your new OPNsense. One cannot have the same network on two different interfaces.

the chain of devices
modem< to nighthawk< to opnsense< to pc

I would not mess with the existing infrastructure but change OPNsense's LAN configuration to anything but 192.168.1.0/24.
