Your question is extremely broad and vague at the same time.
What benefits are you looking for?
If you took on this project, you should be able to give us a bit more detail of what YOU'RE looking for in a firewall and your plans for the implementation.

Question back: is there already a firewall in place and if yes, are you not satisfied with it?

thanks for your reply
you are right, question is extremely broad and vague at the same time.
The project is an IVF clinic / lab, newly started, still not busy, they don’t even have web page yet, so they are asking my help as a friend.
I recommended to start with a basic network to share files, use ip telephony and later, setup a server to install specialty package for appointments, install NAS. Host the clinic webpage etc
So my question was is opnsense gana be of any help?

If you will host all the services inside the clinic network OPNSense will be very useful.
You could install one of the reverse proxy plugins to handle access to the internal web server. I'm using Nginx, but you can chose Haproxy if it fits you. Both well documented and very well integrated.
You could use the built in intrusion detection to mitigate attack to your web server or the PBX. And yet there exists intrusion detection plugins you can choose instead of using the built in solution.
As an open source firewall, is a must have.
You gonna need to read some docs at first to familiarize with the rules configuration, but is far more comfortable that most other firewalls.
