Hello guys,
I've recently purchased business editon and I am struggling to find how to's or some manual for business edition. I am not able to find information how to configure firewall to use the Opnsense provided blocklists, blacklists and geoIP settings.

I am running 23.7.1, and after applying subscription, I am not able to perform the update as it want to update to version 23.10 which doesnt exists yet under my subscription link. What can I do with that?

Is there any section for business edition?

Thank you so much. Apologize myself, I am new here....

Jan

You want to reinstall 23.4 for now as 23.7 is linked to the nonexistent 23.10 and downgrades are not supported.

Images are here: https://opnsense-update.deciso.com/

Business edition has the same docs

https://docs.opnsense.org/

And also a section about vendor plugins only in the business edition

https://docs.opnsense.org/third_party_plugins.html#deciso

That's all.  :)

Cheers,
Franco

Can you please point me how to reinstall live running system back to 23.4? I am running it on esxi.
Thank you.

Deploy new VM, configure/test, shutdown 23.7 and take over the IPs for the interafces wherever needed

After deployment of a new 23.4 machine, can I run upgrade to 23.7? I assume this time it was an issue going from community edition to business edition right? can i export config from current 23.7 and restore it on a new 23.4?

the business editions are x.4 and x.10. You can't "upgrade" to 23.7 as that is a community (and frankly if you want the business edition and pay for it you shouldn't use community unless it's for a technical limitation reason like FreeBSD kernel issue).

Cheers,
Franco

Community release and Business release have different upgrade path thus its bettter to keep them appart to prevent possible mischieves.

Yes you can export configuration from any OPNsense "instance" only thing you need to care of is to update the representation of OPN Physical interfaces via some edditor.

Example.
When I was migrating from APU2 interfaces were igb. New device had a different NIC interfaces were igc. So i found in the exported config every interface named igb and replaced with igc.

Networking is love. You may hate it, but in the end, you always come back to it.

OPNSense HW
APU2D2 - deceased
N5105 - i226-V | Patriot 2x8G 3200 DDR4 | L 790 512G - VM HA(SOON)
N100   - i226-V | Crucial 16G  4800 DDR5 | S 980 500G - PROD

Thank you guys for explanation. I am very short with Opnsense but already amazed...coming from PaloAlto and Juniper...

Sorry but one more thing...the license...maybe I need to elaborate what i did:
- downloaded community edition, deployed as VM
on esxi
- used for a while, configured, tested the features
- upgraded to 23.7.1
- used and tested bit then decided to go for business edition
- bought subscription
- applied subscription
- restarted FW
- then offered upgrade is for non existent 23.10

If i deploy new machine, what happen with license?

Thanks.

There's no subscription to apply to year.1.x or year.7.x releases.

You need to install 23.4 - apply the subscription - update to 23.4.2 and onward to 23.10.

Franco already provided the download link, that page explains how to use your license to get to access the downloads of the business edition
