Unable to install on lenovo thinkcentre edge 72

Hi all, I am trying tot install opnsense onto a ssd on a lenovo thinkcentre edge 72. The system will boot from a usb stick and will install opnsense to the ssd using the installer login but when the system is rebooted the pc reports no bootable os partition , error code 1962. From what I can understand the pc has some sort of hardware coding in the bios where it is looking for a windows partition and will not boot if this is not found. The pc is running the latest version of the bios. If I install the nano version of opnsense to a usb drive it will boot up normally. I know there is a work around on the pfsense installer but cannot see one on the opnsense one. Has anyone overcome this issue previously? Or am I stuck with booting from usb drive and not the ssd? Thank you in advance for any help received.

Sorry for digging up an old topic, I'm trying to do the same thing, also on an Edge 72 and am getting the same error.
Eventually got a USB to install to an SSD, then reboot and get the 'No Operating System' error.
I've changed the boot order and still have no luck.
Really struggling, I'm sure I've installed a similar firewall in the past on this box, but really want to move to OPNsense.

When you google Lenovo and error 1962, you will find that it is probably UEFI secure boot that is the problem. Change the boot mode to BIOS or disable secure boot, then it will probably work.

Not sure if it's related, but I have an older Lenovo Thinkserver to play with, and it has a certain oddity:
If you (re)install an operating system, you first need to go into the bios and remove all existing UEFI boot labels, in order to prevent any conflicts. Otherwise the installer will trip on it, especially if the installer wants to create a label which does already exist.

Thanks for your help, managed to solve it!
For those that need this in the future (including me!):
Boot off the USB stick in UEFI mode, when prompted for 'Other Modes' choose auto guided ZFS. Then when prompted with an options screen change the partition scheme to GPT + Lenovo Fix (BIOS) and go through the remainder of the install.
On reboot, in the BIOS you should have, under Startup, CSM Enabled, Quick Boot Disabled and Boot Mode to Legacy Only.
Also (I haven't tested this) Ensure that secure boot is also disabled.
Hope that this helps someone else.
