On reconnecting ethernet cable interface continues to go UP and DOWN

This seems to have started with my update to 22.7. Everything is fine on boot but if I disconnect an ethernet cable from my router then reconnect that interface will end up in an endless cycle of console messages of it going DOWN then UP perhaps every 30 seconds. When in this state the interface effectively no longer works. To date only a reboot seems to resolve the issue.
Likewise if I power cycle the router the same thing occurs.
Basically if the current ethernet connection is disrupted the firewall freaks out into the UP DOWN scenario.
If I plug the router directly into a switch or machine this never happens so I dont think its the router itself (Tmobile 5g gateway).
I have also seen it happen with switches that are plugged into the firewall but never my WAP device.
The only thing I see traffic wise is I block IGMP snooping from the router but don't see why that would have a bearing.
Is this a known issue, maybe something I am missing in the configuration, thoughts?
Thanks.
