OPNsense should get a Mastodon presence and make announcements there

Twitter seems to be in a death spiral, see https://blog.iconfactory.com/2023/01/twitterrific-end-of-an-era/ for how they are treating app developers.  I was using a different app to access Twitter and it also stopped working and I am so fed up with Twitter anyway that I haven't been on their site since except to stop following everyone I had been following there.  For a number of reasons you may want to consider leaving Twitter and moving to Mastodon while you have the choice and can announce it to your followers, because there's a good chance that if and when (and I think it's a matter of when, not if) it disappears it will do so quite suddenly, and then you won't have the opportunity to tell your Twitter followers how to find you on Mastodon.  Obviously you don't need to leave Twitter in order to have a presence on Mastodon, you could post to both for a while, but increasingly you may find that Twitter is turning into the kind of place you won't want to be.

The place for discussion and contribution is this forum. People are advised to search it before posting a question, the forums are an archive of previously asked questions, and is good compliment to the documentation.
For announcements, there is a specific Announcements thread https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?board=11.0
It must be hard as it is for devs to also be moderators of the forum and split their time to be dev'ing and giving support on this forum. I imagine it would be harder to have yet another place to support. And that is not including other work they need to do as part of a commercial entity.
Not everything has to be on social media IMHO, unless for announcements but not for support.

True BUT I think that was not what the OP meant.
New releases/patches infos are posted on Twitter and actually this is where I new about them firstly.
Leaving the Musk asylum also. The idea of the OP is a very valid one. Nobody spoke about support there (which obviously would be the wrong place).

not a twitter fan nor a mastodon... If this forum site gets an upgrade (i.e. looks and features) it'd be tons better than anything they sell today ( Instawhatnot/TikkiTok/etc...)
