MultiWan setup route traffic to backup wan loses OPNSense access
« on: December 25, 2022, 08:06:28 pm »
Hello Guys

I'm going crazy trying to set up multi-gateway OPNsense.

Let's say the IP address of 10.0.0.15 is the admin PC

Gateway 1 Default Gateway  8.8.8.8
Gateway 2 Backup Gateway  7.7.7.7

Admin PC needs to use Gateway 2 and not the default gateway

I have added the MAC address in Firewall > Aliases I added Alias as a host-name with Contact of MAC address

Then I added a firewall rule
So when I create a rule in Firewall > Rules > I added action > PASS > Source ADMIN PC > Selected  Gateway 2

We get the IP of Gateway 2 of 7.7.7.7 but we lose access to Opnsense Web GUI

What do I need to add to be able to have second gateway and be able to access Opnsense GUI

Your description is difficult to visualize.  You make it sounds like the admin PC is accessing opnsense across the WAN but it has a 10.x.x.x RFC1918 address.  Can you provide a diagram?
