Firewall to Router setup Help
«

All, I'm having trouble setting up my home network. I got OPNSense installed on a firewall PC running zenarmor firewall and I'm trying to setup my wifi router (Asus router) and I want to know the best way to set this up.
I tried AP mode on the router but that didn't work...

I have my LAN port 2 configured static IP
I have my DHCP server for LAN port 2 enabled
My router is set as AP with a static IP of 192.168.50.1/24, and 192.168.2.1 gateway
What am I missing?

What exactly are you trying to do here???
Are you using opnsense as your gateway?
The "wifi router", are you using that just as an AP?
You need to provide a drawing of what you want to achieve here because you're clearly confused.
Plug your internet handoff into the opnsense WAN.
Plug your opnsense LAN into one of the switchports on the wifi router (which should be set on the same subnet as the LAN, not a completely different subnet ).
Done.

Very simple. Internet into the firewall PC to the router. ]
But new update.
I can got it to work by connecting to LAN Port 1. I only have internet through LAN port 1.
Its setup the same as all the other LAN Ports. Static IP of and DHCP server enabled.

A firewall only has 1 LAN interface.
You would need to either bridge all interfaces together, which is not recommended, or use them as optional ports for other networks.
If you did bridge them, did you put appropriate rules on them?

My setup has six lan ports (one used as the WAN). I got it working finally, the firewall runs for LANs 2-5 were not working. Had to delete and remake them...
