Manage kids devices.

So I have 2 kids and they both have multiple wired and wireless devices that I would like to disable/enable the internet at a moments notice.  I'm basically looking for guidance on how I should setup a group of their devices, either on a vlan with access to other ip's on the network for entertainment purposes.  Or if there is a group I can setup to manage all there devices. 

All I need are some suggestions and maybe an idea of what to look for.  Then I'll do the reading.

The way I've done it is

• assign static leases for the devices in DHCP
• put the ( now known ) ip-addresses in an alias
• use the alias in rules to block/allow access
