Manage kids devices.

So I have 2 kids and they both have multiple wired and wireless devices that I would like to disable/enable the internet at a moments notice. I'm basically looking for guidance on how I should setup a group of their devices, either on a vlan with access to other ip's on the network for entertainment purposes. Or if there is a group I can setup to manage all there devices.
All I need are some suggestions and maybe an idea of what to look for. Then I'll do the reading.

The way I've done it is
assign static leases for the devices in DHCP
put the ( now known ) ip-addresses in an alias
use the alias in rules to block/allow access
