I have noticed that the uname is not consistent on our firewalls:

13.0-STABLE FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE stable/22.1-n248075-469123a60d1 SMP amd64
13.0-STABLE FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE stable/22.1-n248088-47fa565344c SMP amd64
13.0-STABLE FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE hyperv-n248055-e91d90c0ac0 SMP amd64
13.0-STABLE FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE stable/22.1-n248088-47fa565344c SMP amd64
13.0-STABLE FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE stable/22.1-n248088-47fa565344c SMP amd64

are there version differences between the repo servers? where does this hyperv come from?

It's probably an early post-22.1 kernel with Hyper-V vSwitch RSC support disabled which is an issue in FreeBSD 13 causing abysmal packet throughput.

You definitely installed it manually. Now the question is did you lock the kernel or wasn't this ever updated (the kernel will be updated on updates as well).

I did every update since then, but the uname did not show kernel version before:
12.1-RELEASE-p22-HBSD FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p22-HBSD #0 6fd65fcb739(stable/21.7)-dirty: Wed Jan 26 20:48:21 CET 2022 root@sensey:/usr/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/sys/SMP amd64
thats why it went unnoticed maybe.

is it possible to change this?

Sorry but why does it say 12.1 now?

It doesn't make any sense. Run a heath audit. Run available updates and report back please.

Franco
