/var/etc/dnsmasq-hosts in 22.1

Hi!
I recently upgraded to 22.1, Generelly this worked fine, but I now have an odd dnsmasq problem. After a certain runtime (with " Register DHCP leases" enabled within a few minutes, without " Register DHCP leases" enabled within a one or two hours), the /var/etc/dnsmasq-hosts is either corrupted (lots of "^@^@" entries) or all static DHCP entries are missing. After restarting dnsmasq the file is correctly regenerated and everything is fine again - for the next minutes or hours. Then local DNS is once again not available, as something strange happend again to /var/etc/dnsmasq-hosts
Thanks, Marc

Hi!
I switched to Unbound now and deactivated dnsmasq. Hope this solves my issues. So far no problems with Unbound.

Hi Marc,
Thanks for the report. I'll keep this under observation but the service that writes /var/etc/dnsmasq-hosts is going to be replaced anyway, see
https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/5119
No idea if the problem is new on FreeBSD 13 or if that was always the case under certain conditions (likely not trivial to reproduce). I have been using Dnsmasq for a long time myself.
Cheers,
Franco
