Zenarmor and local proxy
«
on:
January 20, 2022, 11:45:51 am »
For a specific use case, I run a forward proxy server on OPNsense.
However, those clients using the proxy, seem to bypass Zenarmor.
Any recommendation how to configure it to work with a locally installed proxy?
thanks!

Hi @skywalker007,
Which proxy do you use?

Squid, which is OPNsense standard web proxy.

Hi,
Can you send a bug report?

Hi. I am not sure it is a bug or a config issue.
But yeah - I can.

Hi @skywalker007
Both CONNECT / Transparent Proxy should work. Reach out to the team and they'll guide you through.

You might want to check the configuration of your Zenarmor and ensure that it's set up to intercept traffic correctly. Sometimes, you need to tweak the settings to make it work seamlessly with a locally installed proxy. Also, make sure the clients using the proxy are pointed to the right gateway to pass through Zenarmor. If you ever need alternative proxy solutions or want to explore different options, you can take a look at some proxy providers here:
http://pyproxy.com/?utm-source=crd&utm-keyword=?0920
. It has a range of choices that could come in handy.
