Network design help

Hello new friends!
I do need help with my network design. Quite an amateur in the domain. From what I gather, my network design is quite unorthodox and hence I need help.
My current setup is attached.
Explanation for my current setup:
1) It is important that what I do with OPNSense does not mess up the house network. The devices in the orange area is where the house network is.
2) My room is the furthest from the modem and I can't even have video calls even if i use a powerline. Hence I am relying on a wireless backhaul of the Asus XT8 for more decent connectivity.
3) The connection from the Asus XT8 back to the TP-Link TL-SG105E is just so I can manage the switch through an IP address.
My ideal setup is also as attached.
Explanation for my ideal setup:
1) The earliest place I can introduce a firewall into the network without disrupting the house network is in between the switch and the Asus XT8.
This design makes sense to me, but many others have chimed in saying it wouldn't work and try X/Y/Z. However, due to my lack of understanding of what they are talking about and I get the feeling they become dis-interested in helping. I wouldn't mind changing the design of my intended setup if the main points as explained in my current setup is met. Because I'm still an amateur in the space, I hope more detailed instructions could be given.

Looks like you do not know exactly what you want and call yourself an amateur in the domain.
Decide on what exactly you want to do and then ask people questions.
