Have things changed for a new OpenVPN setup with v21.1.3?

I decided to setup OpenVPN with OPNSense and my iPhone. I used this guide and followed it verbatim
https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/sslvpn_client.html
The only thing I didn't see when I added the SSL server was the option for "Enabled with Adaptive Compression."
I did this twice and still can't connect my iPhone to my home network. I feel like there is something obvious that I am missing. Does anyone know a common mistake that I may have made? I didn't have any problems when I set up OpenVPN previously on my unraid, so I'm wondering what I am doing wrong. Thanks.
EDIT: Instead of the documentation, I followed this video and it seems things are working now.
