Defunct WAN gateway
« on: January 17, 2021, 04:29:30 am »
Tried to set up a backup WAN, didn't succeed.
Now the default WAN gateway is defunct.
Tried to search but can't find any useful information.
I am switching to pfSense.

No point in trying to help... said he's switching, just politely saying goodbye. :)

Switched to pfsense, the same weird craps happen with the network.
Makes no sense at all, until I searched realtek on FreeBSD.

Now I know FreeBSD is real bad with Realtek!
Will try the fix and let you guys know!

Nothing works in this world!

A couple of links I found:
https://forums.serverbuilds.net/t/guide-resolve-realtek-nic-stability-issues-on-freebsd-pfsense-2-4-4-2-4-5-2-5-0-opnsense-use-2-5gb-realtek/3555

https://forum.netgate.com/topic/123180/realtek-device-driver-update/27

And I am using qotom q150, which is praised by so many, until the crap hit the fan I guess.

To be honest we have been using Realtek vendor driver for years and people haven't complained about Realtek as much, but ok... let's keep the blame game running while comparing apples and oranges.

Maybe the issue is in the target network.

Well, all I did was trying to create a VLAN on WAN interface, then all the weird shit happened!

Fell free to give it a try! And have fun!

It is NOT a blame game! It is just thing supposed to work don't!

Just like I always said, people die always for a reason!

I would never accept anything die without a reason.
