list based blocker needed
« on: January 21, 2016, 07:15:08 pm »
I've had a look at the firewall alias feature, but I don't see a way to import a list of hostnames on a regular basis, like with any list based blocker.

I think it's missing as it's a lot easier to manage IPs or hostnames than it is something like Suricata rules.

Hi interfaSys,

There's no import for hostnames (different layer of the osi model), but a periodic update of IP addresses from an url is possible by using the alias type "URL Table (IPs)".

Thank you Ad. What I had in mind seems to be doable via Squid.
