Hi,

Is there a faster way to upgrade from 17.1 to current 20.1.7 instead of upgrading to all steps between  (except of course, to reinstall everything) ?

Thanks.

No other way.

So, a good idea to make the update(s) less frustrating : put an option to do automatically updates over and over until the current version ! From 17.1 to 20.1.7, it took an afternoon and I have 10 boxes to do :)

17.1.? Somebody has been lazy with updates the last years ;)

I assume it's faster to backup config, install current version, install plugins and import configuration.
Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4116 CPU @ 2.10GHz (24 cores)
256 GB RAM, 300GB RAID1, 3x4 10G Chelsio T540-CO-SR

Spend 30 Minutes updating once every 6 months and you can lag behind 2 years in versioning if you want.

We do not want to let people auto-update into a release which implies skipping release notes and associated migration requirements  / quirks. Sometimes even hardware incompatibilities with newer drivers or new OS update.
