"Cannot assign an IP configuration type to a tunnel interface."

I have an interface for a VPN that gets a IPv4 address through DHCP, but when creating a second VPN interface through cloning the first one, I am prompted with this error:

"Cannot assign an IP configuration type to a tunnel interface."

As far as I can tell, this is where I cannot seem to get the second VPN gateway to work.  Any work around or alternative ideas to get this to work like the first interface?
