Hey guys,
So ive moved from pfSense obviously :)
But on pfSense they have a specific APCUPS plugin and my UPS just works.
On OPNsense I installed NUT but I cant get it to work or show anything.

Dunno if im missing something or if there is a specific config that needs to be set?
I tried NUT before on a sever and couldnt figure it out. Anyone know?

Do you have your UPS hooked directly to OPNsense box or is it attached to another host. Depending on your setup you might need to explore the drop downs in the second tab.  I have no issue with mine since my UPS is plugged into another system and the nut plugin is configured as a monitor.

Hope this helps

Mine is connected directly to my OPNsense box via USB

I use a TrippLite UPS connected directly to my Opnsense firewall.  I use the UPSHID driver and the only option I have in Extra arguments is "port=auto", which I think comes by default.  It picked up my UPS with no problem.  Give that a try and see if it works.

That was the first thing I tried and it didnt work.
But just for sanity's sake I decided to try again and what the heck its working...
Maybe the reboot I did after installing the plugin when I was trying to get it to work helped, I dunno!
But its working now :) Thanks

Ok so cool now I have:

Where/how do I set the router to shutdown cleanly when power gets low?

Honestly, I've been fortunate enough not to have this happen.

I believe that the upsmon task handles this by monitoring the configured UPS.  Check out https://networkupstools.org/docs/user-manual.chunked/ar01s06.html for details.  I think as long as this is running it will shutdown safely.

Anyone else know different?

Awesome good to know. So my NUT looks all good and working right?
