Hetzner Cloud Help

I'm using the official image provided by Hetzner (OPNsense 19.7 amd64 dvd) for their cloud server based servers (as opposed to dedicated server which I'm more familiar with).
After around 50-60% of the installation process the server powers off automatically. Once manually restarted it asks about boot location as I think the installation is incomplete.
For context, the live CD works great via console and once I set the WAN interfaxe so does the associated web GUI (really looking forward to using it). However, trying to install it always leads to failure (server powers down during installation and once back up looks like a broken install).
Thing's I've tried:
guided and manual installation
different disk sizes: 40GB and 80GB
different boot options: GPT / MBR
logging in as root, dropping to shell and running opnsense-installer
tested server with Ubuntu 18.04 and pfsense images
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

Have you tried the vga image and use the remote desktop of Hetzner? I am currently not aware if you can use a custom boot media since I have not worked a lot with the new web interface since the migration from robot.
