haproxy log "no results"

Hi,

my haproxy service is not starting any more and I have no idea why. There are no logs in the web frontend:
"Die Datei /var/log/haproxy.log lieferte keine Ergebnisse."

When I log in via ssh an want to have a look at the log file it only shows: ^@^@^@^@^@^@^ ...
Any help is welcome.
