What NUT driver to use for SNMP

Anyone with OPNSense and APC UPSes on this forum?

I have an APC SMT 1500 UPS, with a AP9630 card. Reading Franco's post on the forum that suggested graceful power off in ALL cases, I've decided to make sure the OPNSense box gracefully shuts down in the event of a power loss. What's best NUT driver to use for this scenario? I cannot use the USB part of the APC UPS. The NUT page says to use snmp-ups for APC UPS's with AP network cards - but I cannot see the driver.

I've installed os-net-snmp and os-nut

When you are willing to test I can add the driver for you

Thanks - out this week so will ping you for the driver next week and start testing.

Love the amazing community & devs that OPNSense has !

Hi Mimugmail

Please add the driver now - will test and get back to you with results.

Any updates on this? I'm also looking to connect to my HP UPS via NUT plus SNMP but can't select the driver.

Yay, I'm looking forward to its release :D

Hi,
I found a bug in config generation process:
then I select SNMP-Driver as Active in GUI and save,
in ups.conf appear string
driver=snmp_ups
and NUT can't communicate with UPS
When I manually edit it to
driver=snmp-ups
all works fine.
Please fix it.

Well that explains why I've had a impossible time getting it to work. I have 5 of the same ups's as Harshw.

Thanks for the temporary fix! I thought it was all on me not getting the right settings done.

This would illustrate how important it is to get feedback for working features from the requester. ;)

Thanks! I also thought this was a layer 8 issue.... :P However, I also had to remove spaces in the UPS name, but now it's up and running 8) Are there any plans for a nut widget?

Name validation comes with next release.
No widget plans .. or better .. I have no idea of this :)
