Update from 18.7 to 19.1 black screen right after update

PC specifications:

1. asus m3n78-vm motherboard (NVIDIA drivers video and audio)
2. AMD Athlon X6 CPU
3. Silicon Power 256GB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") Internal Solid State Drive


I had the machine working fine with the 18.7 version of Opnsense everything worked as it should except the machine was not up to date on the current version.

Ran the update gathered all the packages and the system rebooted and now is just stuck at the black screen after reboot. geesh!!!

I love the application, but for some reason I am not able to get past this black screen issue,
is there a way to fix this without starting from scratch again or am I SOL?

I am not able to see anything or even know if the server is stuck at a particular prompt due ot the black screen?
