Setting up ipv6 tunnel Hurricane Electric, but something wrong with routing
« on: May 15, 2019, 04:58:16 pm »
I have set up my ipv6 tunnel with Hurricane Electric. It works as far as my firewall has the tunnel working. I can ping6 objects on the internet. The internal network is set up, and clients get a correct ipv6 address. But I can not use ipv6 from the LAN! I can not ping the gateway 2001:470:xx:xxx::1 And I can not ping objects on the internet.

What should the value be for ipv6 configuration type for Hurricane electric?

Do you have firewall rules that allow traffic between LAN and your tunnel interface ?

I have one very generous rule saying allow anything ipv6 from LAN Net to any on any port

Isn't there anyone running ipv6 that can help me with this matter? Or is ipv6 not interesting?

What should the value be for ipv6 configuration type for Hurricane electric?

Please have a look at the documentation: https://wiki.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/ipv6_tunnelbroker.html

Cheers

I have followed that exactly, but can still not ping6 the router LAN interface from hosts on the LAN.

And as I said earlier. I can, from the firewall shell, ping6 external hosts and ofc my own LAN interface. I've ran ipv6 with a tunnel from Hurricane electric for the past 5 years.

After reboot of the server after upgrading, I get no routes for ipv6. In the documentation there are nothing mentioning the routing. Maybe something is missing?
