I'm curious about this is all.

I have noticed that opnsense.org uses IPv6 but the forums don't yet. Is there a reason?

Hi,

Yes. SMF forum software doesn't support IPv6 natively. There is a plugin, but we'd rather not add extra possibility for breakage to the forum software. Hence no IPv6 here.
