Why does adding a OPNVPN client break my internet connection?

Hi!

So when I add an OPNVPN connection it somehow breaks my Internet connection, whiteout that I'm tampering with any rules. Very strange. If I manually stop the vpn client, everything is back to normal!

Can someone explain this behavior?

and here's my automatic rules, no issues. Note the OpenVPN subnet is 192.168.4.0 and my LAN is 192.168.1.0.

Aha nice! Why isn't your 192.168.1.0/24 net listed?  ???

I would like to run manual rules. Im trying to follow this https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=4979.0 tutorial but simple stuff seems to break my connection.

Because the wizard does not create it.

And I like the KISS principle. Wizard works, why re-invent the wheel and struggle if you don't have to.  :)

Hehe ofc =) But when I have a machine that can handle stuff like VPN and VLAN I would like to take advantage of that =)

Do you have any ide why my machine behaves like this?

I've not read the document you quote, so I cannot be specific, all I will say is things can and do change. Obviously I use a VPN and sometimes use VLANs for testing purposes, I just use the VPN wizard to create the VPN. VLANs I do manually of course.

The question really is, if you replicate the rules manually that the wizard creates, does it work?

Is there a VPN wizard? Where can I find that?  :P

If I create rules manually, it should work exactly like the wizard rules(?)

What's the issue there? I just generate a client file using client export.
