I have a WatchGuard XTM 800 series running oPNsense v25.7. I had the WAN connection plugged into the number 1 NIC and the LAN connection connected to the number 2 NIC. During the installation, auto-detection stated it discovered connections on em8 and em9 interfaces. Not a deal breaker, but is there a way to remap NIC 1 to em1, NIC 2 to em2, etc. ?

 LAN (em9)       -> v4: 192.168.1.1/24
 WAN (em8)       ->

Can you post an "ifconfig -l" from that box?

You can run the assignment from the console again, but it's a bit difficult to locate the NIC port if it's out of order.

Best you can do is plug a switch and look for the link status in ifconfig (or dmesg entry).

Thanks,
