WAN Gateway/ IP address being randomly dropped

Hi all,

I'm running 25.7.2 on a AMD64 based micro PC.  I've used this piece of hardware for a few years now with other software based firewall, Untangle, without issue. I started using OPNsense as a VM on my computer and after I had things stable I installed OPNsense to the micro-PC and restored my backup. But now I have an issue where randomly the firewall will drop or other wise loose connection to my ISP's device. A reboot of the OPNsense resolves it, but as I work fully remote this is becoming an issue for me.

My setup is Fiber internet --> AT&T modem in IP passthrough --> OPNsense --> switch... and so on.

When internet is working the IP passthrough is working, the public IPv4 address is successfully assigned. When internet goes down the dashboard shows a blank under the WAN_GW, and then after reboot it goes back to working and shows public IP gateway. Interfaces--> Overview displays in the same way.

I have run updates on the device and all is now up-to-date, but no change to the problem. I have confirmed that IP passthrough is still set with a 99 day lease, and I'm experiencing this issue multiple times a week but rarely multiple times in the same day. As I wasn't having this issue with the previous software running on this hardware or with OPNsense running as a VM I am thinking there is some compatibility issue with the hardware?  I would appreciate advise on how I can troubleshoot this.

Check System > Firmware > Plugins. If the "os-realtek-re" plugin is installed you are using that. If it isn't you are using the base driver.

You might need to click "Show community plugins" in the upper right corner, first.
