No PPPoE after upgrade to 25.1.5

It would not connect even though it is configured same as my production router. Everything is set up exactly the same, only the drive is being swapped. The same interfaces, assignments, devices, credentials, everything is exactly the same, but the PPPoE interface stays down. Also, the services widget in the lobby fails to load, then loads briefly, and blanks out with the same error message again. This is not very encouraging of the 25.1.
