Hello all,

I have monit successfully configured and it works fine. However, I am wondering what is being used out there. This is for a home network setup, not really enterprise grade, nevertheless I dislike emails as alerting method, as it gets overwhelming and confusing very fast... My preference is to get the alerts on my smartphone.

Happy to hear about other setups out there.

Emails can be received on smartphones ;)
I think you are talking about something like push messages to a special app... This is what I would consider as everything else but enterprise. For enterprise environments you are good to go with SNMP.

However, using Email as method is fine for me since I have special receiver addresses for alert and warning/info mails, each with a unique sound on the smartphone...
i am not an expert... just trying to help...

exactly, push notification to an app on the phone, with a nicely readable GUI. =)

If that already exists out there, that would be great, if not, email will do. SNMP-to-push would be fine too if there's a way to set that up.

there's a way to use telegram to receive alerts. not sure how to set that up though. :D

Old topic but in case anyone stumbles on it, mailrise is also an option. It takes SMTP email traffic and turns it into notifications.
