Tried downloading the latest DVD ISO from a few mirrors. Once downloaded I cannot get it to extract the ISO.

See attached image.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Cheers

Checked the sha256sum of the downloaded file?

Downloaded from Courier and

bunzip2 OPNsense-24.7-vga-amd64.img.bz2

works flawlessly.

Yes checked the shasum. This was via my Ubuntu 24.04 desktop.

Thought so. I think there is I think a defect somewhere in Nautilus where some of these compressed objects fail to decompress when using the "Return" which is a shortcut to "Extract".
The workaround that I find works is to right-click on it and instead of "Extract", use the option to "Open with" you could use "file roller" and show you the iso contained within. Then extract to your desired location.

Many thanks.

Your workaround worked using Archive Manager. I also managed to extract it using 7z on the command line. But not via Gui.
