OPNSense doesn't see WAN

USInternet fiber connection in Mpls.  Current router is a TMobile branded ASUS.  I'm installing OPNSense on an old ThinkCentre that has run IPFire in the past, though I have replaced the PCIe ethernet card with a 1G model.  Both motherboard ethernet and TP-Link PCIe card are Realtek chipsets.

Install all goes fine, but OPNSense cannot see anything on the WAN interface.  LAN Interface shows 192.168.1.1, WAN interface is empty.  It is set to DHCP on WAN, same as the ASUS.  Unplugging the WAN cable from OPNSense box and plugging it back into the ASUS works fine.  Power-cycling the fiber-to-ether "modem" has no effect.

Ideas?  I'm about to try IPFire and PFsense on that box again to see if it's specific to OPNSense.

Write down the MAC of your branded ASUS and spoof it in the opnsense WAN interface, see what happenz... :-)
kind regards

I'll give that a try, but I should note that I started with the new fiber line using a TP-Link router under DDWRT; when I saw terrible throughput [300mbps on my 1G line] I switched to the ASUS, which gives me 800mbps.

This leads me to believe that the MAC is not going to be an issue, since I've switched router hardware once before without any MAC cloning.
