Correct way to route traffic through a VPN?

I have set up a virtual OPNSense router on one of my Proxmox-servers. It works great and I have tried it with both my laptop and a VM. My next step is to route all traffic on that subnet through Mullvad VPN with wireguard and a kill switch. I have found a two tutorials;
1:
https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/wireguard-selective-routing.html
and
2:
https://notes.aliciasykes.com/18842/how-to-mullvad-vpn-using-wireguard-on-opnsense
I believe they do what I intend but I would like to make sure that I'm not missing anything here or using slightly the wrong path to success? Will this tutorials get me there?
Best regards,
Benpe
