Is it possible to install zshell to opnsense?

yes it is... use the freebsd package to deploy it.

does it mean manually download and install the package? are there any dependencies? I understand adding freebsd repo can break something...

# opnsense-code ports && cd /usr/ports/shells/zsh && make install
