21.7.1 System Restore including Plugins ???

Hello,

i did a fresh install of 21.7.1 today. After install System Restore. I saw that after the System Restore the DNSCrypt Plugin was not installed, and had to be installed under Plugins again ??

Is there not a possibility, to get the installed Plugins in the Backup, so they get automatically restored / installed ???

Yes, as of 21.7.1 multiple ways of doing this exist.

Can you give the link to the documentation where this information is?  I have been searching them and haven't found them yet.

no mention of plugins or automatic restore.

When I re-installed my system.  I receive an error message when I looked at the plugins saying they were missing.  Same as crissi. 

If it is not documented, can you explain the "mulitple-ways."

19.1.r1 added the ability to track plugins installed and removed in the configuration as a first step to this complex requirement.

21.1.3 added "plugin conflict resolution" options available from your firmware GUI status page much like the audit features. Missing plugins can be automatically installed or the misconfiguration / missing plugin situation can be accepted as the new default.

21.7.1 added the "plugin conflict resolution" as an automatic addendum of the console option 12) firmware upgrade.

I believe he meant without user intervention.  When the system is restored, after it automatically reboots, it will automatically install the plugins so when a users logs in, everything is installed already.

Not tracking, or conflict resolution, but self installation.

No. I want my kitchen to be clean automatically but as long as I don't act that won't happen.

Thx @errored out, yes meant without user intervention of course... i mean if i do a restore of the config, i expect that all config is restored not to go to plugins the manual way and click install again...

Franco, what is the sense behind go half automatic / half manual ..

Just let me know how you want to do it technically and I can tell you why it doesn't work.

You could also read up on the relevant topics from the past years, but I don't have high hopes.
