getting back os-pppoe (pppoe server) on current release

has anyone done it or could outlline needed steps to run the now removed pppoe server package on a current opnsense release? are there known incompatibilities to be expected or was the package just removed due to low usage? the use is not planned for production, rather in a lab setting.

no, i just read that the pppoe server package was removed from opnsense, i suppose it is not available per se in the default build?
