power outage set OPNSense back to defaults booting in LIVECD Mode

hello, just had a long power outage while I was out of the house, of course, the UPS decided to die in the middle of it bringing down my OPNSense box. When I rebooted it was booting up in LIVE CD mode and even after I restored the last backup it would just boot in LIVE CD Mode. I know I can just run the installer but I would prefer to not have to loose all my settings. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Normally after restoring a backup config file, it has to reboot. AFAIK.
As you already know you can just run the installer, why haven't you?

Yes, it was rebooted after the restore of the backup file and again it just goes into live cd mode.
As I stated in my OP I would prefer to not lose all my configurations and I'm not confident that re-installing and then re-applying the backup will actually work.

You are not re-installing anything. You run a LiveCD. Which runs in memory.
Which gets wiped once you reboot.
How difficult is that to comprehend?

Maybe you still have the CD/ ISO/ USB plugged in, end set as a boot device earlier than HDD?
I didn't test this, but I have a strong feeling that after the reboot your machine booted not from the HDD, but from removable installation device. Check this first.
Otherwise, the only explanation would be that you always ran the machine in LiveCD Mode but were not aware of it until reboot.

The OP is very much aware that he/she is booting from LiveCD, because of not using the installer.
It is mentioned in the first post.

Yes, right!
At first, I sought that the fact the device is booting in live cd after power outage is, in fact, the problem. Only after pointed by you to the right interpretation I get aware that Nnyan has no problem, other than expecting OPNsense to not work as designed, but as s/he's expectations.
