As I wrote: usbconfig or usbconfig -v does that. And your output does not show the UPS connected.

You've not mentioned you tested the UPS connection to OPNsense using a different USB cable.

i did. but on a whim, i decided to use my windows laptop and sure enough the ups musta died between when i first tested and now. issue resolved.
