But now I want to ditch the ISP router and replace it with my opnsense router.

To be honest : I am against bothering the Router with all the IPTV stuff.

Once you figure out how everything works I highly recommend converting it to something like this : https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=51192.msg262139#msg262139
This way you keep any IPTV issues away from having to mess around with your OPNsense and just fix/reboot/"whatever..." the dedicated Mini IPTV Router whenever needed :)

i read this, this guide is outdated unfortunately, and it uses a fiber connection. i use a vdsl connection because fiber isn't available yet unfortunately.
