I am reading lately ugly news about fraud on Paypal and banks stopping making payments.  Besides I despise profoundly these folks based on past experience which contributes to my skepticism. When I saw their web  in the donate page I backpedaled.

I wish I could just do a SEPA payment. No need for Visa, mastercard, stripe or anything else.

Apologies for the out topic.

I totally understand your frustration. Many people feel the same way about relying on PayPal or card payments, especially after hearing about fraud or account freezes. SEPA transfers can be a much simpler and more transparent option, especially in Europe, since they go directly from one bank to another without intermediaries. Hopefully more organizations start offering direct bank transfer options to make things easier for users like you.
I'm a business owner and use payments gateway for payments. It's the best solution for modern businesses.

Yes, same experience here, just actually wanted to donate again (did so last year) and saw PayPal and card payments with a form that looked like my resume (although just empty) --> backpedaled as well. I won't say anything bad about PayPal though, my only concern is that I can logon that thing once out of ten attempts, effectively locking my own account, needing a landline, a mobile phone, my grand mother ID on top of mine and god knows what else.. This is in fact technology that doesn't work and I prefer to spend my time on things that does; work. An alternative would be welcome, yes
