update stuck settings back to default

There was an update to OPNSENSE so I did an update and it got stuck in the middle of the process so I did a RR and now the router has reset all its settings to default. I changed the IP address and tried to restore the settings from the file I saved but I get the following error: The following input errors were detected:

The configuration could not be restored. What can I do now?
