Hi everyone,

I am Philippe from France but living in Tokyo, Japan.

I set up OPNSense whit some success at the beginning of the year but after being a while out, I lost my IPv4 connectivity.
I upgraded OPNSense but still no success.

My ISP is Docomo/OCN who provides IPoE and PPPoE. But they really push to IPoE and they may have deprecated PPPoE. I am not sure yet how to check that.

Anyway, if I connect a Windows machine directly to the modem, I got a fully working Internet connection.
I built a two NICs router using Proxmox+OPNSense. It used to work too but IPv4 is now failing.
IPv4 fails: no route to host for ping, no DNS resolution
IPv6 works: ping and DNS resolution

Any recommendation?

Thank you.

How was that Windows machine configured? Stock DHCP?
What kind of IP addresses did it get?
If you end up on the public internet, it's brave...

Do you still have the PPPoE configuration on OPN?
Did you try without?

Hi Eric,

While doing the actions again to give you the exact answers to your questions, I got my IPv4 connectivity back.

I unplugged the router from the modem to connect another Windows machine to grab the data. Then I plugged back the router and everything worked back again!!

I am not sure what is the difference between rebooting the router and unplugging/plugging it back... unless something happened in the meantime on ISP's side.

Well, thanks a lot for jumping in and trying to help me. Appreciated.
