Hello

So, I see quite a few links on google and here about configuring etc, but what really is it used for? Is it beneficial beyond me already having NordVPN+OpenVPN config or my Wireguard [really just for home use]? Is it something I should use?
Just casually curious of peoples usages and thoughts on it.

It's a case of whom you trust:

- I trust my ISP, which means I only need a VPN for remote access (inbound)
- I trust my VPN provider, which means I use their VPN to hide my traffic from my ISP
- I trust nobody, so I use TOR to hide my traffic from everybody outside my house

Needless to say, performance gets worse down that list as well.

For me, commercial VPN providers are only an answer to geo-blocking.

Hey there

Well I am going to give it a go and just see what's up. I have 6 WAN IP's and 6 Networks and I am only wanting my 192.168.5.0/24 to filter through/use TOR because this is my home Wifi and I host nothing on it so do not need to worry about opening any ports [Unless I will need to for like WOW, PS5,XBSeriesX].

I assume this is the most relative guide?

The guide should be fine but remember the TOR performance penalty and the stress you are putting on a volunteer network by routing all your home traffic through it. As for gaming, don't expect anything more taxing than NetHack (https://alt.org/nethack/) to run over TOR :)

I run Tails (https://tails.net/) for sensitive tasks and browse with ad/malware blocks (desktop and network) for 'normal' internet access.
