Internet access down yet OPNsense seems fine

I'm super new to OPNsense and to networking in general. I just fired up my first custom bare metal OPNsense router on a small mini computer about 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing and intermittent problem. Access to the internet goes down yet the LAN is fine. I can access the OPNsense GUI and any other device on the network. First thing I thought to do was reset the fiber modem from my ISP. No effect. Restarting OPNsense fixes it every time. Again, OPNsense is up and running. There don't appear to be any obvious problems in the GUI. Traffic in/out shows LAN activity but almost zero WAN activity. Any thoughts on want to do next? Thanks

No explanation why as services are stable on OPN but sounds like you should check first if DNS resolution is working or not. When it isn't, those are the usual symptoms.
As to why it would stop working, that's going to be the real question. Even if it is not DNS.
In sum, you need to narrow the problem down. And describe the setup including services.

I am also running OPN bare metal and three instances where I seem to lose internet after about 10ish days of uptime. Running OPN with Adguardhome DNS.

OPN host LAN ip responds to pings but cannot access the GUI nor ssh to the box. When it happened yesterday I could traceroute/ping to 8.8.8.8 so it seems DNS service went down. I've had to hard reboot the box. WAN is on the onboard Realtek (using realtek driver) and an Intel 4 port I340 nic.

I have a monitor and keyboard attached to it now so I can check the next time this occurs.
