This is the actual hardware I am using for this install.
AMI bios
Celeron N2840 @ 2.16GHz dual core
8gb RAM
128 SSD
4x2.5g ports
1 USB 2
1 USB 3
etc..

PFsense would install with ZERO issues.

OPNsense on the other hand...

I kept getting stuck at "Root mount waiting for: CAM" and the installation would never finish.

I tried Rufus and Balena to make the install stick using VGA, Nano and Serial on three different brand new thumb drives...all the same result.  Tried in the USB 2 and 3 ports...no joy.

I made a Ventoy stick and put the iso on it...still stuck at Root mount waiting for: CAM

Finally, I got a crappy little MicroSD to USB adaptor and used the cheap MicroSD that comes with an Ender printer and it worked.

That was a whole lot of effort to make an install stick!  Especially considering that it was one and done with PFsense.

I had different problems using the installer(s) on an AceMagic and a VM in ESXi7...both of which were a major hassle relative to PFsense.

Anyone have any thoughts on why it was sooooo much more difficult to install OPN vs PF?
